How To Do a Clean Install of Wincnc
- Backup your existing Wincnc folder to a ZIP folder.
- Uninstall Wincnc
- Download WinDemo.zip from wincnc's website
- Extract all files from WinDemo.zip
- Run install.msi from the extracted files folder.
- When the hardware installation prompt comes up, click continue anyway
- Click in the command line window, then press any key to continue.
- Download the latest version of the software from Wincnc's software updates download folder on their site. (i.e. WCnc2403.zip)
- Right-click on WCnc2xxx.zip, then click Extract All.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Browse button.
- From My Computer, choose Local Disc (c:) then the folder Wincnc.
- The wizard should now say "Files will be extracted to this directory: C:\Wincnc
- Click the Next button
- When prompted to replace files, click Yes To All.
- Make sure Show Extracted Files is Checked, then click Finish.
- Double-click Wincnc.exe to confirm that the program will load.
- A security warning may pop up. If it does, Uncheck "Always Ask before opening this file", then click the Run button.
- Extract the following files from the backup .ZIP file you made earlier into your c:\Wincnc folder:
- cnc.dat (or any other files with the .dat extension inside the backed-up wincnc folder)
- wincnc.ini
- all of your macro files, which includes, but is not limited to the following:
- cnc.mac
- G37Z
- any file with the .MAC extension
- Start Wincnc. Make sure the machine moves properly and the limit switches trigger.
- Copy the cncscrn.ini file and the bitmaps folder from the old installation backup into the new wincnc folder.
